A 79 year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist Tuesday night when walking in the vicinity of 11th Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue.

According to section 21950 of California Vehicle Code “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection…”
