Drunk Driver kills 72-year-old Sunset Beach Man

A 72-year-old man from Sunset Beach was struck and killed by a drunk driver on Sunday evening. The man was attempting to enter his parked Ford Fiesta when a woman, who police allege was drunk, swerved and hit the man. The was taken to UCI medical center where he ultimately died.

The drunk driver was identified as 27 year-old Laurie Ferreira of Huntington Beach was identified by witnesses and her Nissan Xterra was found about a mile from the accident scene.
