A woman was killed on February 2, 2015 after a hit and run collision near Apple Valley Road on High 18. A witness drove by on Highway 18 and saw a pedestrian on the highway, after she saw a vehicle swerve, strike the pedestrian, throwing her into an embankment. The witness stopped and called for medical care while the unknown driver continued heading east on Highway 18. The identity of the hit and run driver is still not known.
